Posted by It is with heavy hearts that family, friends, and loved ones announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Gerald “Jerry” Reich, a beloved son, father, brother, and friend who left this world far too soon.
Jerry passed away on his beloved property in Rhinelander, Wisconsin — a place he considered his happy place. He died doing what he loved, surrounded by the peace and beauty of the outdoors that brought him so much joy. He was a longtime resident of Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Known for his rugged exterior and deeply caring heart, Jerry was a man of few words but tremendous loyalty. Those who knew him remember him as someone who was dependable, protective, and always there for the people he cared about.
Jerry had a deep passion for the outdoors. He was an avid hunter who found peace and happiness in nature, and he enjoyed spending time riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycles whenever he had the opportunity.
Professionally, Jerry served as the IT and Salon Manager at VICI Capilli Salon, where he became much more than a coworker to those around him. He was a father figure, a steady presence, and a source of strength for the entire team. His quiet humor, dedication, and dependable nature earned him the love and respect of everyone who worked alongside him.
Jerry’s loyalty and devotion to the people in his life were among his greatest qualities. His presence brought comfort and stability to those who knew him, and his absence has left a deep void that will be felt by many.
He is survived by his loving mother, Penny Rushing (Fred Thomas); his daughter, Samantha Walker (Jordan Walker); his longtime partner, Julie; and his beloved Newfie, Frank. He is also survived by his father, Gary Reich, and stepmother, Carol Ann Reich; stepbrother Greg; stepsister Renee; stepfather Marvin “Rusty”; his best friend Paul; and his VICI family.
Jerry’s sudden passing has left family, friends, and colleagues heartbroken. He will be remembered for his unwavering loyalty, dry wit, quiet strength, and the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held in his honor, reflecting the way he would have wanted to be remembered — with laughter, good food, drinks, and stories shared among those who loved him. Family and friends are invited to come together, share their favorite memories, and celebrate the life of a man who brought so much meaning to the lives around him.
